Red Bull shoot themselves a McLaren shaped Hole

Coming to Turkey Red Bull looked strong, both drivers in 1st and 2nd in the drivers’ championship and in a comfortable position in the constructors championship, all the pressure was on them to keep up the performance. All looked good after qualifying with Red Bull 1st and 3rd after another good show from Webber, hats off to Hamilton in the McLaren managing to split the Red Bulls to start second.
No one could have foreseen what happened during the race however, about lap 43 Sebastian Vettel got a run on Mark Webber coming into the final corner complex, but Webber understandably did not yield so rather than try and out brake Mark into the final chicane Vettel decided to swerve right into Mark Webber (not the first time he has done this) contact was made and Vettel damaged his car and had to retire. Both McLarens who also had a bit of a scramble took the places of the Red Bulls after Mark finished third.
It was Michael Schumachers best finish of the year 4th ahead of his team mate but still 30 seconds behind Mark Webber. Work needing to be done for Mercedes who have said they are still trying to master the now famous F-duct device on their car. Ferrari failed to impress at their 800th Grand Prix, the highlight for them was overtaking the Renault of Petrov, and puncturing the tyre of the Russian in the Process, the Ferrari really did struggle to beat the Renault.
So whats this do to the championship chances. Well in my eyes Vettel will not be champion, purely because the guy cannot overtake, and is far to erratic when under pressure. Webber has my vote for the Red Bulls, that’s if he gets the teams vote, after it was revealed that Vettel was the favoured driver within the team.
The McLaren boys have my vote to take the constructors title, they seem far more at ease with competing with each other, perhaps a little less Lewis, as he seemed a bit surprised to see Button try and overtake after being told to conserve fuel.
Well, looking at the odds, its become clear that the bookies share my view that Vettel is still not ready to be champion, Webber is now on favourite odds to take the drivers title for the Red Bull team 11/5 over Vettels 11/4, who I don’t see coming second to his team mate, McLaren are closing the gap and forcing Red Bull into mistakes. Lewis Hamilton is on odds of 11/4 and Jenson is 8/1. I don’t see Ferrari recovering the difference any time soon but the bookies still rate Alonso over Button at 8/1, but more odds suggest he is still favoured over the Brit. Odds from Bet365.
